Our Department

  Mount Mourne Fire Department is the southernmost fire department in Iredell County. We proudly protect over 8,800 residents, as well as the several thousand people that pass through our district everyday, in an area of 18 square miles. We operate out of one station that protects a primarily residential area, with moderate commercial and industrial properties. We are a combination department of volunteer and part-time paid firefighters that provides fire, rescue, and medical first responder services. The Office of State Fire Marshal, under the North Carolina Department of Insurance, has graciously given our department an ISO (Insurance Service Office) rating of 2 out of 9.
